Of the four language communities we recruit for by name, Spanish speakers have the most open positions, in the widest range of neighborhoods, at any given time. 7 Day Home Care is hiring Spanish speaking Home Health Aides (HHAs), Personal Care Aides (PCAs) and Companion Caregivers across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Nassau County and Suffolk County — with new client cases opening on a rolling basis, not just a fixed batch of listings.

Three Roles, One Application
All three roles start with the same in-person application, so you don't need to pick one before you apply — our recruiting team will help match you once they see your certifications. A Home Health Aide (HHA) handles hands-on personal care: bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, safe transfers, meal prep and medication reminders, and requires active NYS HHA certification. A Personal Care Aide (PCA) covers daily-living support — personal care, meal prep, grocery runs, light housekeeping, mobility assistance — and requires active NYS PCA certification. A Companion Caregiver focuses on conversation, supervision, meal prep and appointment or errand help, with certification requirements that vary by assignment. A Quick Scenario
A caregiver walks into a new client's apartment in Washington Heights. The client, in her eighties, has been managing mostly on her own but needs help after a recent fall. She's more comfortable in Spanish than English, and within the first ten minutes she's talking — not just answering questions, but actually telling the caregiver what worries her, what she misses about her old routine, what she needs help with that she hasn't said out loud to her family yet. That's the difference language match makes in practice: it's not a checkbox on an application, it's what gets a client talking within the first visit instead of the first month.
You don't need to speak Spanish to work with us — we hire from every background — but for the many clients who specifically request it, this is why it matters.
Where We Place Spanish-Speaking Caregivers
Queens: Bayside, Whitestone, Forest Hills, and surrounding neighborhoods
Brooklyn: DUMBO, Carroll Gardens, Williamsburg, and nearby communities
Manhattan: SoHo, Lenox Hill, the Upper East Side, and Battery Park City

Because Spanish-speaking demand is spread widely rather than concentrated in one or two neighborhoods, geographic flexibility tends to open up more case options here than with our other language-specific roles.
Scheduling
6, 8, 10 and 12-hour shifts. Day, evening, overnight and live-in options. Full-time, part-time, weekday-only or weekend-only — tell your recruiter what actually fits your life, and they'll work from there rather than handing you a fixed slot.
What to Bring to Your Application
- Government-issued photo ID
- Proof of U.S. work authorization
- Active NYS HHA or PCA certification, if applicable
- Two written professional references
- A physical exam completed in the last 12 months
- MMR documentation
- A clear Quantiferon TB test
- Drug screening results, if available
From Application to First Case
Day 1: Walk in during office hours, meet a recruiter, and go over your certifications, experience and availability.
Days 2–5: Documentation gets verified — references checked, certifications confirmed.
Within 1–2 weeks: Most complete applicants are matched to a case, sometimes faster given how frequently Spanish-language cases open. Timing still depends on current client volume and your own availability.
Questions We Hear Most From Spanish-Speaking Applicants
Are there really more openings for Spanish speakers than other languages? Generally yes — Spanish-speaking clients make up a larger share of our overall caseload than any other single language group, so turnover and new openings tend to be more frequent.
Do I need to be fluent, or is conversational Spanish enough? It depends on the client. Some cases need full fluency for detailed medical or family conversations; others work fine with conversational ability. Tell your recruiter your actual level honestly — it affects which cases you're matched to.
Can I request a specific neighborhood? You can ask, and we factor it in, but placement ultimately depends on which cases are open and your certification and schedule. Being flexible on location tends to open up more options.
Is pay different for Spanish-speaking roles specifically? No — pay is based on role, certification and case type, not language. Spanish fluency doesn't change your base rate, though it can affect which cases you're eligible for.
What if my certification is from another state? Bring it in and our team will tell you what, if anything, needs updating to meet New York requirements.
Do you have positions for someone completely new to caregiving? Yes, particularly for Companion Caregiver roles, which have more flexible entry requirements than HHA or PCA positions.
How often do live-in cases come up for Spanish-speaking caregivers? Regularly, though availability shifts week to week — ask your recruiter what's open specifically when you apply.
